Emergency Preparedness Specialist - East / Southeast Region

Intro:

Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Emergency Preparedness Coordinator, the Emergency Preparedness Specialist will have the following responsibilities:

  • Assist Emergency Preparedness Coordinator with CPR/First Aid training for educators, partners, and CCR&R.
  • Coordinate agency requested CPR/First Aid trainings for educators.
  • Coordinate and manage the Online CPR/First Aid training system.
  • Complete training data reports for agency requested CPR/First Aid trainings.
  • Assist with planning and creating the CPR/First Aid training calendar.
  • Support the quality assurance system through onsite visits for CPR/First Aid trainings for assigned regions.
  • Conduct reviews of Emergency Preparedness Plans.
  • Support CCR&R Coaches working with educators on the development of Emergency Preparedness Plans
  • Support Regional Task Force Groups
  • Assist with statewide training needs related to CPR/First Aid and Emergency Preparedness.
  • Stay current on DHS licensing regulations and guidelines for child care centers.
  • Author content for CCR&R newsletter/social media/website and agency newsletters.
  • Serve as a facilitator for Train-the-Trainer Institutes.
  • Positively market the CCR&R Network to the community.
  • Attend and participate in local partner meetings as advised by supervisor.
  • Collaborate with applicable State agencies.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.




Qualifications:
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in education, Early Childhood Education, Family and Consumer Sciences or related field.
  • Three-five years’ experience in this or related field required.
  • Experience preparing child care programs for emergencies.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office products including, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must also be knowledgeable of scheduling using Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Teams.
  • Must have knowledge of Google Docs.
  • Knowledge of database management and data entry.
  • Experience training and coaching adult learners.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Physical examination and record of negative TB test results must be on file with Signal Centers.
  • Dependable transportation, valid driver’s license and insurance required.
  • Willingness to travel statewide, work some nights and weekends.
  • Must be able to work from a remote home environment within the state of TN.

  • The ability to serve as a liaison between Signal Centers, Inc., and the subcontracted Child Care Resource and Referral agencies.
  • The ability to maintain and share knowledge and understanding of emergency preparedness consistent with best practice and apply those within the structure of the Tennessee Child Care Resource & Referral Network agencies. 
  • The ability to train adults using adult learning strategies and provide technical assistance in both large and small group settings.
  • The ability to identify potential barriers, problem solve, and make decisions reflective of the goals and values of the Child Care Resource and Referral Network.
  • The ability to forecast possible growth opportunities for continuous program improvement and professional development.
  • The ability to work under pressure and shift directions to meet the needs of child care agencies and educators
