Marketing and Communications Specialist

Intro:

This position focuses on planning and managing the execution of projects across all communications channels—including but not limited to email, newsletters, and digital media. The specialist’s contribution is critical to ensuring that print and digital content is produced in a timely fashion with clear and relevant messages for our audiences. The communications specialist is a strong editor, writer and project manager who thinks carefully about content and how to convey ideas in a compelling way as well as a self-starter who has a knack for keeping track of deadlines and can easily toggle between multiple projects.

Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Signal Centers Marketing Director and in collaboration with peer marketing and communications specialists in the department:  

  • Will work closely with the Marketing Director and Chief Marketing and Development Officer to implement goals of the marketing and development plan for Signal Centers that includes all programs and services.
  • Will collaborate with the marketing team to create and oversee marketing initiatives that build awareness and increase stakeholder engagement with Signal Centers.
  • Produce marketing materials such as brochures, newsletters, and online content that promote the organization’s programs and services.
  • Contribute to and implement the organization’s digital marketing strategy, including website, social media, and email marketing campaigns.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
  • Adhere to the organization's brand identity and ensure consistency across all marketing materials.
  • Maintain relationships with community partners, including media outlets, to increase visibility and support for Signal Centers.
  • Provide marketing support to fundraising and special events.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Proven working experience in social media marketing or as a digital media specialist.
  • Excellent graphic design skills. Knowledge of Adobe Suite preferred.
  • Knowledge of how to develop an email marketing strategy.
  • Knowledge of Google Ads and how to incorporate advertising into an overall digital strategy.
  • Proficient at developing and maintaining press relationships.
  • Willingness to travel 10% of the time to support statewide programs and attend conferences.
  • Ability to work across multiple teams serving multiple purposes.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of analytics tools.
  • Adequate knowledge of Webflow is a bonus.

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferably in Communications, Marketing, New Media, or Public Relations.
  • Three-five years’ experience in this or related field required.
  • Physical examination and record of negative TB test results must be on file with Signal Centers.
  • Dependable transportation, valid driver’s license and insurance required.
