OFFICE ASSISTANT PART-TIME OPPORTUNITY

The Speech & Hearing Center is looking for a hard-working, self-motivated part-time employee eager to learn about our organization by assisting the front desk with administrative support.

HOURS: Flexible Schedule


RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (BUT NOT LIMITED TO):

  • Answer phones and serve as initial contact with patients in the office.
  • Promptly check in patients with the expectation they will be ready to see clinicians on time with any paperwork completed.
  • Check out patients and collect payments.
  • Schedule appointments and input initial patient contact and insurance data.
  • Research and resolve payment issues, working closely with billing.
  • Handle incoming referrals.
  • Prepare and send paperwork in advance of new patient appointments.
  • Check postal mail and voicemail and return phone calls.
  • Send appointment reminders and reschedule patients, as needed.
  • Complete weekly bank deposit.
  • Perform weekly server backup and daily billing sync.
  • Learn internal operations and identify areas for process and customer experience improvements.
  • Perform other general office duties, as needed, including file maintenance, organizational projects, data entry, maintaining front lobby spaces, ordering office supplies, etc.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:       

  • Entry-level professional or student majoring in business, nonprofit management or like program
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office business suite, as well as the ability to learn medical practice management software
